But would it be more preferable, if we instead had merged the main card from strikeforce with the top-fights from the next DREAM-event? This way we dont need to include unknown fighters. What do you think? edit: Oh, there actually is no DREAM-event anyway, but maybe there are other possibilities? Truth be told I picked Mousasi, so he was my lone main-card disappointment. I was really surprised that he was so inert off his back and didn't start going to the body with kicks - I mean, he was going to get taken down anyway so why not let the kicks go? Regarding prelims, I'd leave them I guess. I like how having to pick relatively unknown fighters forces me to investigate new talent that I wouldn't otherwise know about. For this event I picked the main card pretty quickly (despite flip-flopping on Mousasi/Lawal a few times) but spent a lot of time investigating the prelims. I was only able to find video on 3 or 4 of these guys and there was a lot of variation in how their records are reported in the various online databases (the Sherdog fight finder seem to be pretty conservative). Most major events, particularly UFC cards, are not nearly as bad as this Strikeforce event in this regard. It's something we'll just have to deal with from time to time.

Im certainly not in favour of making up competitions by taking a few fights from various events, just doesnt make sense. Sure, there unknowns every now and again like this, but everyones in the same boat, so its fair.

I'm kind of surprised to hear people saying Hendo looked old - even the commentary team made that statement. I didn't think he looked appreciably older, he's just a lot more one-dimensional than many people realize and Shields is an incredibly good grappler. I picked Shields to win based on the fact that Henderson has only one weapon on the feet (big right hand that he always telegraphs) and has demonstrated that he's not good off his back (this is most prominent in the Rampage fight). Granted, Shields has no weapons on the feet, but I felt he was a smart enough fighter to plan for that right hand by circling to the right and picking his shots. He didn't do that in the first round and we all saw the results. We also saw how great Jake's recovery ability is. As great a fighter as Henderson is, even in his prime he would have had trouble with Shields on the ground. Hendo isn't suffering so much from age as his failure to evolve new skills. On the feet you only have to worry about one thing. If you don't constantly circle into it you won't end up like Bisping. Get him on his back and he's very beatable.

3 title bouts so a lot of expectations but they were disappointing. why 3? Also did not like the commentators talking about results of ufc 112. luckely i had seen that one before this event. And the Miller incident was redicilous. he got bullied
