Had to stop everything that I was doing this morning to bring this nugget of news from the UK, directly to your Acer computer monitor (or MacBook if you're Nate Diaz). The news originates from a very reliable source, the same guy who personally gave me the news that the winner of Koscheck vs. Daley would not only be next in line to contend UFC's welterweight belt, but they would appear opposite Georges St. Pierre in The Ultimate Fighter 12.

Just hours ago, Paul Daley signed a six-fight Strikeforce contract. He will still fight at Shark Fights 13 which will go down September 11th at the Civic Center Coliseum in Amarillo, Texas (sort of a strange date to have an MMA event). His first opponent will be Evangelista Cyborg which denotes that he will still be competing at welterweight.

Paul Daley seems extraordinarily happy with the financial package that he received from Strikeforce. Not sure when Daley will debut in the organization but according to UnitedGlory.nl, he will also be competing in a welterweight tournament (along with Shinya Aoki) which will kick off October 16th and wrap-up April 2011. Of course, all of this really means that we may see some of the greatest smack-talk in the history of MMA if Paul Daley vs. Nick Diaz goes down.

Yeah this is good news. Get him in there against some better competition. I met him in Sydney so he doesn't need to come back

There are some decent fights there for him and being in Strikeforce helps keep your name recognition high as well.

Huge for Strikeforce. If Daley gets through one or two opponents, he sets himself up for a shot at the title. The marketing potential of a matchup between Diaz and Daley is huge. Its matching up 'the bad boys' of MMA. Also think it would be an exciting fight.

I'm so bummed about Daley. He was my new "man to watch" in the UFC, and it kills me that Koscheck managed to get in his head (which is what Koscheck is best at ) and cause him to do such a dumb thing.

At least I now have a good reason to watch Strikeforce

It's great he can fight for Dream we will see alot better match-ups for his style in SF and Dream imo he wouldn't get passed GSP or to him and Shields just left to UFC he has a shot at the belt there. As far as Aoki at 170 look what happened last time he tried that not the best idea he has his hands full at 155.
