I'm not sure if there's already a post on this in the forum, I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

I'm not aware if there's normal etiquette or unwritten rules for the site (or torrenting in general) on how to reseed but I thought it might be useful to suggest something so that certain reseed requests aren't overlooked.

When requesting reseeds, can all users make sure that they also start the torrent in their torrent client. Don't wait for the torrent you want to be showing as having a seeder before starting your download. The reason i ask is that when looking into reseed requests, to save wasting my time, I'll check the details of the torrent to see if there's currently a leecher - if there isn't I'll assume that the request has already been fulfilled by other seeders and will delete the request from my inbox.

I'm sure i can't be the only one that does this.

I've noticed on a few recent requests that the torrents have been showing as 0 leechers, however when checking the snatchlist, the requesters haven't downloaded the file. This means that they haven't been starting the torrents when making their requests.

I just want to make sure that everyone is on the same page on how to request a reseed and that requests don't go unanswered due to misunderstandings or miscommunication.

There's a lot of torrents on the site that currently have 0 seeders. This is totally understandable as users can't be expected to seed everything they've downloaded 24/7, 365 days a year due to hard drive limits or whatever other reason they may have. A lot of us though are more than happy to help out and reseed when these requests come in. The last thing we want for the site is for people to think that requesting a reseed is pointless (as requests have been ignored) and that these torrents are dead which won't be helped if users don't get the reseed because of not starting the torrent in their client.

Very good point! Thank you for making it :)

To abbreviate:

BEFORE making a reseed request, download and start the torrent in your torrent client!

Do not make reseed requests without actually starting the torrent in question first, even if it has 0 seeders. Just let it run, make the reseed request, and wait for someone to add seed.
