[UPLOADER RULES] Reupload & Add Seed rules specified

Dear members,

It happens more then often that one of you find that you have some MMA related files that you would like to upload as a torrent, but that same file was uploaded in the past, maybe years ago, by someone else. And now that old torrent does not have any seeders anymore. So maybe you would like to re-upload the torrent or at least add seed so that it becomes possible for others to download it.

You basically have a few options on how to act in these situations.

1. Add Seed. This is the preferred option.

If you have the exact same file(s) as in the previously already uploaded torrent with no seeders you can "add seed". You do this by clicking download on the torrent and then choosing the location on your hard drive where the files that are same you have are located. When you click OK the torrent client will re-check the files and if they indeed are the same will start seeding the torrent. In some cases it is possible that you need to rename the folder or files so it has the exact same name as the original torrent before you re-check. You should be able to see the exact names when you click download on the old torrent and the window with the files is displayed in your torrent client.

If you successfully have added seed to the torrent you can then contact an admin and he/she can set the torrent as "sticky" so that it is displayed on top of all other torrents on the torrent page for a while to attract new downloads.

2. Reupload Torrent

Sometimes you have almost exact the same files but you are missing something small, maybe an nfo file or similar so you can't add seed to 100%. Or you are unable to add seed for some other reason. In that case please contact an admin in PM with a link to the old torrent. Explain that there are no seeders and that you would like to make a reupload. The admin can then delete the old torrent and after that you can reupload it as new.

3. Different version

Sometimes you have almost same files but slightly different in size or quality, maybe you have more files added that completes the instructional or similar, and cant add seed. In that case you can upload it as a new torrent. Just make sure to write a description that explains this and preferably with a link to old torrent.

What you should not do is simply reupload same files again, even if there are no seeders. Choose one of the options above instead.
