I was there for like 1 hour and 15 mins but damn guys, felt like i was there for like 2 and a half hours. I started questioning in my mind is this something I want to keep doing. This is hard work if I do this I have to be dedicated.
The guy said I'm in pretty good shape starting out and I have some talent and he could make me nice in the ring. That kinda got me feeling good, because I've always been looking for a sport that I have a natural talent for. I was pretty good at football but not great. I was a good sprinter for my school but only decent out of it and around the area. I'm not great at basketball, I like it but as recreation or for fun. Soccer I don't really play except for fun but I like it since I grew up with my dad liking Jamaica and Brazil. Baseball is ok I sucked as a kid though, took me a half a season till I started consistently hitting, and even then I might not have started being a consistent hitter. I'm doing Cross Country, XC, this year purely for getting in shape for boxing. If I can't handle both though I will quit XC. I also will be doing Winter and Spring Track but if they interfere I'll drop those. At MMA I had a knack for the grappling portion and had talent in it, I never felt comfortable striking which was because it was as structured or as learning rather and more free sparring. There were a couple guys who hit me pretty good, one dude was like double my weight and it would annoy me how he would hit me. I mainly worked on technique and didn't put too much power in my punch and kicks also because we didn't use head gear for 1/2 the time (in which case we wouldn't go as hard). In boxing though sparring is ALWAYS done w/ headgear to prevent injuries. The MMA gym I joined was probably not the best but it was good and it was pretty much the only place around. The workout though was not as intense as the boxing one I did and not nearly as structured or as much a learning experience. One question I really want to know is how many trainers work at the gym because so far I've only seen Vince, I don't mind that but I was really thinking there should be like 2 or more. It wasn't a fast day though so who knows. I'll try to go back Monday, he said if I start going full time and being consistent, like I said, he could make me nice. I also need to be consistent for my self or I'll take breaks and quit going.
This is something I think I wanna do though, I do know there will most likely be hard and tough times in the future where I will doubt myself but I wanna push through it. Hopefully this log will help me do that. Thanks for your support guys.
