Just as a headliner Henderson got injured - partial MCL tear. So with no main event the whole card has been cancelled. Tune in here for more information.

Today at a special press conference, UFC President Dana White announced that Jon Jones refused to fight a replacement offer of Chael Sonnen for his title fight at the advice of his coach, Greg Jackson.
White was not for a loss of words when describing the situation: Greg Jackson is a f--king sport killer. We've never had a fighter refuse to fight a guy. It's never happened.

I feel that I owe it to my fans and all the people supporting me to fight at my full potential in order to give myself a chance to win the UFC title. Most importantly, I appreciate their honesty when I needed them the most to make this very difficult decision. I also want to thank Dana and Lorenzo for being so understanding and supportive. I will continue to pursue the UFC belt with all of my heart!

First off, people are slating Jon Jones and I can't agree with them. You can't make Jones fight a high quality opponent in 3-8 days notice given the magnitude of the fight. Even though I'm really dissapointed it is not up to Jon Jones to make the card top heavy! What's the CO MAIN AGAIN? Ah yeah that's right Jake Ellenberger vs Jay Hieron. Give me a break. This transitions nicely to my second point that the sport of MMA is in a state of saturation. I love MMA but now there seems to be a UFC event every weekend nowadays. People talk discuss over-saturation as a question? F**** that it is a real thing and happening in front of us. MMA is becoming more like boxing where they are over reliant on the main event fighters. We should have less cards and stack them. Compare the main and co-mains of last year and this years, there goes your answer. Let's hope ZUFFA learns from this...

this whole thing sucks... jones is gonna lose a lot of fans for this... i really think he is a building towards a reputation like koscheck of being hated...  not on purpose of course but he is definitely getting there...

He's getting a lot of hate already on the UG and other various outlets, that's for sure. Wonder how the crowd will react at UFC 152.

Turns out they have to pull the card because of NSAC rules.
If you promote a championship fight and it gets cancelled, you have to cancel the card.
