DREAM and World Victory Road's Sengoku promotion again will offer year-end fights.
They just won't team up for one single event.
Officials from both Japanese promotions recently revealed tentative plans for the shows with "World Victory Road Presents: Soul of Fight" on Dec. 30 and "DREAM Dynamite!! 2010" taking place Dec. 31.
In 2009 Japan's two top MMA promotions teamed up for a "Dynamite!! 2009" show that featured cross-promotion MMA fights (and a lineup of K-1 kickboxing matches).
This year, though, they apparently will hold separate shows.
DREAM's takes place at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The show likely will air live on HDNet.
No fights formally have been announced for the show, but as MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) previously reported, the Dutch promotion It's Showtime recently announced that veteran middleweight and contracted fighter Melvin Manhoef (24-8-1 MMA, 4-3 DREAM) has been cleared for the show.
Meanwhile, WVR's show takes place at Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo. It's likely to air on HDNet, possible on delay.
No fights have been announced, but in addition to MMA fights, officials have hinted at possible kickboxing and grappling matches on the all-day card.
