Terry Etim..Some of you may have seen some of his fight in UFC and some of you may not, i have been lucky enough to see him fight in the flesh twice. Terry is no put on the main card and is used in the pre lims but i have a feeling all that could change. Terry has torn through the fighters he has been matched against and along the way has shown what a multi skilled well rounded fighter he is.

Since then Etim trained with Pride veteran Luciano Azevedo in Brazil in preparation for his fight with Matt Grice at UFC 70 in Manchester. After an opening flurry that rocked Grice, Etim jumped in with a flying knee that was blocked and caused him to fall to the canvas. From there, Grice worked his ground and pound attack, but once the fight was stood up, Etim turned the tables and locked in a standing guillotine. Etim dragged Grice down to the ground whilst in the guillotine. But this allowed Grice to escape briefly, before Etim got Grice in another guillotine choke. Grice fell unconscious in the choke and referee Steve Mazzagatti halted the fight with 12 seconds left of the opening round.

Etim was defeated at UFC 75, London by Gleison Tibau via unanimous decision. Etim was controlled on the ground by Tibau for the length of the fight, eliciting boos from the English crowd.

In his next fight, Etim received his second career loss and his second loss in a row against veteran fighter Rich Clementi in a similar manner.

Etim defeated Sam Stout at UFC 89 in Birmingham, England via unanimous decision. Combining precise kicks with fast hands and a precise jab, Etim controlled Stout through the duration of the fight, only having to fend off sporadic and often desperate bursts from the Canadian in reply.

Terry posted his second win in as many fights, as he stopped Palace Fighting Championship lightweight titleholder Brian Cobb via strikes. The defeat snapped Cobb’s nine-fight winning streak. Etim appeared to win the first round, using leg kicks effectively. When the fight went to the ground Cobb failed to score points, as Etim avoided damage on the ground. Early in round two Etim dropped Cobb with a head kick before finishing the fight with punches, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

Terry survived a first-round knockdown and broken nose to defeat Justin Buchholz via D'Arce choke at 2:38 of the second round. Etim collected $60,000 for submission of the night. Buchholz and Etim traded heavy kicks and punches for the first few minutes in the bout before the American landed a hard right hand which broke Etim’s nose. Buchholz pounced but Etim was able to survive the round. Etim went back to his measured gameplan in round two, landing with some hard leg kicks, before hurting Buchholz with multiple knees from the clinch. A scramble ensued before the fight went to the mat, from there Etim was able to lock in the D'Arce choke to finish the fight.

Etim won his third submission of the night honours after defeating Shannon Gugerty at UFC 105 with a Guillotine Choke.

Etim is was a finalist in Fighters Only Magazine's "Submission of the Year" award 2009 and Etim is expected to face Rafael dos Anjos on April 10, 2010 at UFC 112.

While focus has been on The count Michael Bishping, Paul Semtex Daley and Dan Outlaw Hardy, Etim has been hard at work grafting to claim his place at the top of the card. The liverpudlian comes across quiet and not as mouthy as some of his fellow brits but dont take this as a weakness because when the cage door shuts Etims fighting talks for its self.
Stats
Name Terry Etim
Record 14 - 2 - 0 (Win - Loss - Draw)
Wins 2 (T)KOs ( 14.29 %)
11 Submissions ( 78.57 %)
1 Decisions ( 7.14 %)
Losses 2 Decisions ( 100 %)
Association Team Kaobon
Height 6'1" (186cm)
Weight 155lbs (71kg)
Birth Date 1985-10-19
City Liverpool
Country England

If you have not seen any of Terrys fight go and find them and watch Rogan reffered to him as a light weight anderson silva, in my opinion Terry and his skills need to be on the main cards as he is a well rounded mma fighter who can finish fights standing or on the ground...2010 could be big for Etim.

No joke he has good stand up. I've unfortunately loss money betting against him. Sam Stout is from my hometown has a really good gym and outstanding stand-up guess having Sean Thompkins as a brother in-law doesnt hurt and Etim won that fight. That really opened me eyes to this kid can't wait to see him progress even more.
Good post btw, nice job.

You can hardy call Etim a secret, with quite some impressive wins in the UFC, let alone best kept secret
your right in that he is from the uk though ;) .

but he'll be a top 10 fighter for sure if he keeps on training like he does now.
