Another matchup has joined the rapidly expanding fight card for UFC on Fuel TV 2, as welterweights Paulo Thiago and Siyar Bahadurzada have reportedly agreed to meet at the event.
Swedish website MMAnytt.se on Friday broke news of the bout, which will take place April 14 at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm. The event is expected to air live in its entirety on Fox subsidiary Fuel TV.
Thiago, 30, suffered the first two-fight losing skid of his career in 2010 when he was outpointed in back-to-back bouts by Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt rebounded in August, however, by taking a unanimous decision over David Mitchell in Rio de Janeiro.
Thiago has finished eight of his 14 career victories by way of submission and holds notable wins over Josh Koscheck, Mike Swick and Jacob Volkmann.
A former Shooto world champion at 168 pounds, 27-year-old Bahadurzada (Pictured) will enter his UFC debut on a six-fight winning streak which includes stoppages of John Alessio and Carlos Alexandre Pereira. “Siyar the Great” had been set to make his first Octagon appearance against Erick Silva at UFC 142, but was forced to withdraw in mid-December due to injury.
