 DREAM. 17 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by Fighting and Entertainment Group's mixed martial arts promotion DREAM. The event is expected to take place on July 16, 2011 at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo, Japan.Official Fight Card Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Armenia Gegard Mousasi (c) vs. Japan Hiroshi Izumi
Featherweight Championship bout: Japan Hiroyuki Takaya (c) vs. Japan Kazuyuki Miyata
Bantamweight Tournament Final: Japan Masakazu Imanari vs. Japan Hideo Tokoro
Bantamweight bout: Japan Keisuke Fujiwara vs. Japan Kenji Osawa
Lightweight bout: Japan Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. United States Drew Fickett
Light Heavyweight bout: Japan Tatsuya Mizuno vs. South Africa Trevor Prangley
Welterweight bout: Japan Hayato Sakurai vs. Lithuania Marius Žaromskis
Heavyweight bout: United States Todd Duffee vs. United States Nick Gaston
Lightweight bout: Japan Eiji Mitsuoka vs. Brazil Bruno Carvalho BackgroundShane Nelson was set to fight Shinya Aoki at Dream. Fight for Japan!, but Aoki declined to fight Nelson. Nelson is now expected to make his Dream debut at this event. It is being rumored that Nelson will fight Dominique Robinson.
The winner of the Kenji Osawa-Keisuke Fujiwara fight will join the Japan Bantamweight Grand Prix 2011 finalists, Masakazu Imanari and Hideo Tokoro, in a worldwide DREAM bantamweight grand prix expected to kick off later this year.
Willamy Freire has suffered a hand injury during training that forced him out of his bout with Kawajari. He has been replaced with Drew Fickett.
