"Da Spyder" is going to have to find somewhere else to weave his web.
That's because Kendall Grove (12-9) has been released by the UFC following a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Tim Boetsch at the recent UFC 130: "Rampage vs. Hamill" event on May 28.
He broke the news himself via his Facebook page, saying:
"Thank u UFC for a lot of Good memory's. Respect to all the staff at zuffa for always treating me like family."
Grove's grueling grind through the UFC middleweight division began in June 2006 when he bested Ed Herman to win The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 3 and the coveted "six-figure contract."
He would emerge victorious in his next two bouts before a rapid descent into mediocrity that saw him battle his way to a 4-6 record, culminating in the previously mentioned loss to Boetsch.
Surely there are plenty of opportunities for the beleaguered former reality TV star. Could he pop up in the talent deprived Strikeforce 185-pound weight class? Perhaps Bellator is interested in a well-known potential challenger to Hector Lombard? M-1? Anyone?
