The function “UWC 52: Ramos vs. Sedano” will feature eight professional Mixed Martial Arts (AMM) fights.
“We are very excited about this new alliance between Zonkeys and UWC since the Featherweight Championship will be at stake as the main course and the opportunity for fans to join us in person.” commented Alejandro Islas.
The president of UWC indicated that the idea is to stay at Arena Zonkeys for future events and hopes for a positive response from the fans since it is the first time to be held at that site.
“Tijuana is the cradle of MMA in Mexico and since the beginning of the year we have been looking for a venue where the public could be present, since it is a great fan, and on April 7 they will join us at Arena Zonkeys,” he added.
The show will be sanctioned by the Tijuana Boxing and MMA Commission.
The esteral fight will be for the Featherweight Championship, where the monarch Dorian Ramos (7-2-0), from Apex MMA, from Tucson, Arizona, defends against Esteban Sedano (5-1-0), from Monsters MMA, from Guadalajara, Jalisco.
Ramos will try to make history by being the first UWC monarch to successfully defend the scepter three times, while Sedano wants to recover the sash for a Mexican gym.
The co-feature will be in Flyweight with the return of the undefeated Alan “Super Glue” Martínez (10-0-0), of CQuence BJJ, from Norco, California, against Iván “Brasil” Hernández (10-5-1 ), from Combate Libre Academy, in Monterrey, Nuevo León.
In the Lightweight qualifier, Marco “Roca” Elpidio (17-9-2), from Ultimate Kombat Fitness, from Mexico City, will face Hugo “Mákina” Oyarzún (8-2-0), from Castro, Chiloé, Chili.
