Generally, the more you pay the better router you get. The newer the router is, the more likely it is to work fine with ps3 etc. But I dont see why any normal router shouldnt. It all comes done to how much you can spend in the end. I can recommend some routers that cost $100.000 and some that cost $1000 but obviously that is ridculous as you are wanting it for home usage. I think that with a basic Dlink router you should be just fine. Make sure it can do a minimum of 100 mbit transfer, preferably more if you are going to use it for local networking between computers. The faster router, the faster transfers pc to ps3. Most newer routers work fine with all gaming and filesharing. usually you just need to learn how to forward the ports correctly and everything should work just fine.

Are you planning on using it for wifi or only cable? How fast is your home connection? Etc..

I just recently bought this Netgear router:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-136-NG&groupid=46&catid=1596&subcat=

It does a desktop PC (wired), a 360 (wifi N) a netbook (wifi G), our Wii and DSs, plus our mate's iPhones. Upgrading to a new router solved so many issues - also, it cleared up our problem with the Sky Player on the 360. That would seemingly overload our old router and so we'd have dismal performance when streaming stuff off Sky. Torrents would also overload the old one, but not an issue with this one.

As you can see, it's very reasonably-priced, so no need to go mental with your money.
