FUCK THE UFCC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYTHING UFC EVERYTHING TO DO WITH UFC..... EVERYTHING THAT WILL EVER GO ON TO HAPPEN IN UFC !!!...... I Lost money on that horseshit..
Well that was a real shodow from Shogun. Many can say that dont leave it to judges, but then again how u KO idiot who is doing nothing but running. I hope Machida fans are proud of their hero. Worst decicion in a LOOOOONG time!!!!!!!!
I think the fight was a lot closer than everyone thinks. Just because Joe setup permanent base camp up Shogun's ass? I don't mind being a bit biased, but I don't think I've ever heard such one-sided commentary.
Granted, I have no idea how the judges came up with a unanimous decision. I thought it could have gone either way, split.
I'll watch it again tomorrow and see if my opinion changes.

I dont understand this at all. I was 100% sure Lyoto lost the fight. It looked like he was promised the win by UFC and was told to lay off so that Shogun would make a great performance. Only problem was that he actually lost the fight. I really dont care what the judges say. Lyoto didnt win that fight.
Update:
Dana White: "I think there will be a rematch" between Lyoto Machida and Shogun Rua by John Morgan on Oct 25, 2009 at 5:05 am ET LOS ANGELES – Never one to bite his tongue, UFC president Dana White didn't take long to express his feelings on the main event of Saturday night's "UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun" in Los Angeles.
"I thought 'Shogun' won the fight," White said as UFC 104's post-fight press conference opened.
White was just as displeased as most fans in attendance at Staples Center, as well as the majority of viewers at home, that champion Lyoto Machida was awarded a unanimous-decision win over challenger Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. But unlike the rest of those complaining, White can schedule a rematch – and it looks like he will.
"I think there will be a rematch," White said. "I talked to both of them, and they both agreed to a rematch."
The five round affair between Machida and Rua proved difficult to score. With both fighters remaining patient while picking and choosing their shots, neither outright claimed any of the frames. White said that's a behavior that needs to change moving forward.
"One of the things I always tell these guys is 'You can't leave it in the hands of the judges,'" White said. "You just can't do it. But at the end of every round, neither one of the guys went after it. Neither guy tried to steal the round.
"You saw it a lot in boxing – and these guys have got to learn it in MMA – is when that 30 seconds is left, go after it and try to steal that round. Neither one of them did it throughout the fight."
It was that inability to steal rounds that led to the hotly disputed decision. But while White claimed he felt Rua earned the win, the UFC exec admitted the rounds were close.
"When you go round-by-round and you score the fight, I actually had Machida winning the fight up until the third round," White said. "The first round could have gone either way. I gave the second and third to Machida. And then I gave the fourth and fifth to 'Shogun.' Assuming that 'Shogun' won the first, fourth and fifth, he wins the fight.
"I knew it was going to be a tough one. I knew it was going to be strategic. It was everything I thought it would be, except they should have pressed more and gone after it at the end of the rounds and tried to really pull out the rounds and make it easier to score. It was a tough fight to score."
White said he would have to figure out when a rematch could take place, but he think it should be the next fight for each competitor. And White said his motivation for scheduling a rematch has as much to with his desires as a fan as much as his concerns as a businessman.
"That's me the fight fan (and) the businessman," White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "Whatever you want to call me, I want to see this fight again."

I guess I'm also in the minority as I'm (relatively) happy with the way it ended up. I didn't favor either fighter going in and can't say I do now. But I think the result was as good as this fight deserved. A few thoughts:
1. Maybe I'm old school but I don't want the title changing hands in that fight. Machida went and took the title from Evans. You really want the title to change hands on a 3 rounds to 2 split decision in a fight where neither man was seriously hurt? Maybe you do. I don't. Fights like this make me long for the no time-limit days. Make someone win, but the challenger should take the title, not expect, want, or have the judges to give it to him.
2. Rogan's commentary was definitely one-sided. I didn't know anything going into this pre-fight regarding who Rogan liked, but it was clear throughout the fight. There were several times where Rua attacked Machida and Machida stood in and landed a punching strike directly to Shogun's face. Rogan would comment only on the kick coming in and say nothing about the counter to the face by Machida. As a sidenote, because those strikes weren't mentioned, watching the replays tell me that Shogun has quite a chin. Machida really did put a couple on the button and Shogun showed nothing.
3. Leg kicks don't get any respect.....and should they? Unless you chop your opponent down with them, or use them to set up a knockout, it's clear that 10 leg kicks don't mean as much to the judges as a single strike to the head or a takedown. Agree with it or not.....and I don't really have a problem with it.....it's the way it is. Much like body blows in boxing, early body blows may add up and work to your advantage later, but unless you land significant blows to the head, hurt your opponent, or finish the fight with a knockout, it's rare that someone takes a fight with early round body work, and no one ever wins a title that way.
In the end, in Olympic boxing, you can try to count blows and declare a winner that way, but in MMA, unless you hurt your opponent with a strike, finish your opponent with a knockout, or submit them, nothing really matters to me. Takedowns, leg strikes, failed submissions, etc. at the end of the day just don't mean much to me. This fight absolutely shows the downside that can happen to a sport when you allow mainstream control. Commissions, sanctioning bodies, rounds, judges, additional rules, etc. may have done a lot for the sport in the long run, but in a fight by fight analysis, this fight is exactly what these things have done to hurt MMA. Here's hoping for a rematch, and here's hoping even moreso that next time we have a winner.
The judges have publicly stated why they thought Lyoto won and I have serious doubts that it was fixed in any way. Maybe now would be a good time to start talking about scoring systems? This one obviously isn't working.

You gotta rememeber that it's not the UFC's fault. The judges are appointed by the Athletic Commission, so if you're going to rage at someone make it the commission. Bunch of useless faggots, don't know a left hook from an oma plata. Wankers.
