Quick question?

I am going thru these training dvd rips on here. What is YOUR best strategy to train and absorb from these videos?

There seems to be hours of content, what is the best way to learn and remember as much of it as possible?

I cannot at this time join a gym and do I need equipment like a wrestling dummy or punching bags?

There must be a way to go thru all this data and see trends on what works and what is bs. Is watching the ppv a better way to learn, to see the trends on what works in real life?

Thanks

Instruction tapes/dvds/rips will never replace a skilled coach, no matter how many hours you watch. When practicing/repeating moves/techniques of any martial art you need external feedback. Otherwise how will you know if what you're practicing is correct. Maybe there's a simple angle that you're missing that makes the whole world of difference in the application of whatever technique. A lot of people say that practice makes perfect, that's 100% wrong! Only perfect practice makes perfect. Practicing sloppy will undoubtedly reduce the effectiveness of what you're practicing, you'll also form bad habits etc... Also in order to practice whatever techniques, you need training partners. Training partners are readily available in a gym as well as whatever equipment you'll need for that martial art (mats, ring, heavy bags, etc...) Even though martial arts are individual sports you still need a team or a group of people to train with that will help you improve and elevate your game. I don't want to say never, but ultimately I believe that people will never reach their true potential in martial arts without coaching/team. Go out and find a gym. Hope this helps!
