The fights have been fought and aired. Now it is time to discuss the event. What did you think about this event? What was your favourite bout? Who has surprised you most? Who has given you a reason to fall asleep? No matter what your opinion is, you can ventilate it here. Just keep it clean because we do not wish to have a fight on the forum without being able to show some footage of the injuries :D

Greg Jackson trained fighter does it again. Isn't the saying no smoke without fire? First GSP, now Marquadt

Great event i really wanted to see if Oliviera had stand up and it was decent. Think its funny how Ross Pearson was quoted on BJPenn.com saying he had a better chin and boxing then BJ, then got dropped by a grappler. As far as the greasing incident it never happened Palhares issued a formal apology, but the accusation sends tremors threw the MMA community and alot of naysayers will be on Jackson MMA about it for awhile. I still see the aftershock from Greasegate now and again.

I liked it, but then when Marquard finished Palhares, I was like, so... thats it allready?
it shows you the level of Marquard though, you know somebody is good when he wins easily, and Palhares imo is very good also.
which makes the King of Pancrase amazing  .

Finally took the time to watch this event. Few good fights but also some real let downs.

I liked some of the prelims like Waldburger vs Mitchel, Edwards vs Gunderson and Hamman vs Kingsburry. First one had a lot of grappling but in this case it was ground action, loads of submission attempts and a little ground and pound. Nice to see some technique eventhough they just debuted. Edwards had a nice come back. Looked fit, fast and accurate. Hamman and Kingsburry was also a fight but in this case mostly stand up. The fact that Hamman kept going showed heart because at times his head looked like a punching bag, flipping to and fro. He does need a new mouth piece though, it kept flying through the air.

The fight between Branch and Drwal had no winner imo. Man what a boring fight that was. These fighters need to get back to the gym and train hard on punching and tactics. Branch only won because he had a few take downs but that was it. Drwal basically did nothing more than look around and grab a hold of Branch. Occasionally he threw a punch, woohoo.

Then the main event...short and simple it was a let down. Pearsson started out well but got hit and then gave up within seconds. Same with Efrain. I don't know why Efrain did not try to just fall on his back when Oliveira took it and choked him. You are already about to give up so try falling backwards. The impact of the ground might give you an opening. Marquardt fight was odd. The opponent pointing at the referee and then pow bam boom, OUT. Jim Miller did ok.

All and all an average event but it was to be expected. Card was not that awesome I thought.
