The third season of Dana White’s Contender Series is set for a June 18 launch.

MMA Junkie today confirmed with UFC officials that the new edition of the prospects-driven event series will take place over 10 consecutive weeks, rather than the previous two editions, which hosted eight events in each run.

The series wraps up on Aug. 20.

Additionally, with the closing of The Ultimate Fighter Gym in Las Vegas, the upcoming season of Dana White’s Contender Series events will all take place at UFC Apex, a new facility that is still under construction located next to UFC headquarters and the UFC Performance Institute. The events stream live on UFC Fight Pass.

As previously reported, a second 2019 season is expected to be scheduled for later this year.

I never really understood it as didn’t watch much of them only Free fights on YouTube is it similar to TUF? Only they get an invite?

If you have not watched Dana White Contender Series before you are in for a real treat! It is just an awesome concept and promotion.

Imagine a promotion that looks for new talents and give the fighters they find that look promising the chance to have 1 fight in front of Dana White. And if they finish that fight with a KO, TKO or submission they win a UFC contract. This is Dana White Contender Series!

The fighters really go out of their ways to make a good impression, and it shows in the statistics. Last seasons saw a combined of 43 KO's!

Probably the most exiting MMA promotion out there right now in my humble opinion.

Over the course of two seasons, the stripped-down, five-fight, early-week events have resulted in 39 athletes receiving UFC contracts, along with one competitor — unbeaten 19-year-old Chase Hooper — currently working on a development deal and another dozen fighters garnering a chance to compete in the Octagon after appearing on the show.
