New SITE THEME - More modern and full of new functions! Check out this guide first!
Read below the picture and you will learn how to use the new theme

Hi all mma-torrents members! I have some good news!

Some of us hang around the site a lot :ymblushing: , and for us and all others too, it is really nice to be able to change theme from time to time, mostly so it doesnt get too repetetive day after day. We recently added the new MMA theme and it is still one of our fav themes and the default theme.

But NOW ladies and gentlement hehe, we have added yet another, also specially custom made uniquely for us by Nikkbu, cool and modern new theme named NB-Tron. (Inspired by the Tron movie..)

You will find the theme switcher in the right column on the tracker (here). Please use it! Dont be afraid if it looks new and different, or messy at first, you might need to try out the functions before you can have it just the way you like it. And remember it is still "beta" so please report any bugs you find! And you can switch theme back and forth how much you ever like!

Here is a quick guide of some of the new functions that are important to know about:

1. If you click this clip icon the header will "fall down" and reveal a hidden part with some important functions. Try it and you will see.

2. Use this << or >> icon button to change view left or right side column.

3. Use the <> icon to expand or minimize the main field. Try it and you will see what I mean. Expanding browse page looks good as you can see on top picture ;)

4. The hidden part that reveals itself when you click the clip has functions like colour changer and theme switcher and a few important shortcuts to your messages and profile etc...

We hope that you all will enjoy the new theme and to be able to change it from time to time when you get tired of seeing the same old thing.

Big props to Nikkbu that made the theme I asked him to perfectly, hes a real maestro, just like the rest of the people working with us here :)

Very nice... however :-?

How about a wide screen format (eg 1600 wide or 1900 wide)?
Now I have empty space left and right on my 1920x1080 screen.
The NB-MMAW is perfect in terms of filling the screen, but is not as graphically nice.
It seems a bit more laggy than the old theme. What gives? (I know.. I only have a c2d, a 9800gtx & 2gb ram, but browsing should be fine after all ;) )

I'll try it for a little while, and see if there is anything else that pops up.

Props for trying to keep things fresh though. ~o)


Edit: I just posted a torrent comment, and it didn't scroll automagically to my posted comment after submission. The page reloaded to the top of the page. Minor annoyance only though.
Edit edit: When pressing the "Thanks" button on a torrent, why have it redir and stay for many seconds at a "success" page? I know I pressed it, now take me back quickly so I can get more free stuff dammit :D

Hey Mrdabolina, awesome input! I hear ya :)

Regarding the wider version of the theme, well, the idea was to make a slimmer theme from the start, so if you like it wide you can use MMAW. We wanted this to be "different" so to say... This doesnt mean a wider version couldnt be made of course, its a fun idea.

Now regarding the theme being laggy, I think it can be because you use it for the first time. First time you use it all the new imagefiles and such must be downloaded and depending on your isp/connection this can give a sense of lagginess the first time. The imagefiles are then stored in your browsers cache and you should experiecne it as fast as any site/theme. This is normal. On my side it is actually loading faster then the other themes.

Thank you for the other bugs you mentioned, allthough they are probably not all theme related but more general they should be looked into.


Personally I am contemplating that maybe the colour sheme should change with the banner so it always fits the same colour sheme that the banner has, but with changing banners as we have each week, its is quite a task to do.

Laggy: With that I don't mean loading slow. I mean the site becomes slow AFTER all the stuff is loaded. Scrolling up and down is noticeably choppier and slower.
Edit: particularly when the side bar is hidden.

Banners: Make all new banners semi-transparent and they will blend.

I think that slowness has more to do with what browser and videocard etc you have. I dont experience it as slower when scrolling myself, but I have noticed that firefox is using a lot more RAM since their last updates and requires you to have a more powerful computer to display pages correctly...

Unfortunately Im not sure that making the banners transparent would look very nice, specially not on the other themes ;) Im rather thinking about making it with a script in the bg that recognizes something in the filename or so. We will see :ymdaydream:
