I dunno if any of you chaps have seen this new meme on your internets lately
This would have to be absolutely the worst song in the history of music, to add to the travesty of childish rhymes, it promotes intellectual ignorance, contempt for science and is basically gayer than two dicks stuck in a glory hole. It's so bad it's unintentional comedy at it's best (worst?). In any case, it must be viewed at least once.
The phrase “Fucking Magnets, How do they work?” comes from the song Miracles by the Insane Clown Posse, released in September of 2009.
The music video first debuted on Youtube on April 6th, 2010, and was met with immediate Internet acclaim, being quoted in forums, used on image macros, and eventually spoofed on Saturday Night Live. Analysis and appeal
The song describes the wonders of the universe and an appreciation for nature’s beauty, while angrily eschewing science.
At 1:52 Shaggy 2 Dope says “Fucking magnets, how do they work?” He also mentions “fucking rainbows” which has become lulzworthy.
After the magnets comment Shaggy says “and I don’t want to talk to a scientist, yall mother fuckers lyin, and gettin me pissed”. This line implies a sense of frustration and an inability to understand basic scientific concepts, while maintaining a childlike sense of wonder over the forces of nature.
One can see the pain expressed in Shaggy’s face as he recalls how science class made his brain hurt. While he wants to know how magnets work, he is not willing to accept a scientific explanation.
This is similar to the love of ignorance Richard Dawkins describes in Unweaving the Rainbow: Science, Delusion, and the Appetite for Wonder. Dawkins explains how it is foolish to think that scientific explanations somehow diminish the beauty of nature. A John Keats poem accusing Isaac Newton of destroying the beauty of the rainbow by reducing it to it’s primastic colors is shown as a prime example.

Not to dampen the fun here, but to be honest, they're not that wrong.
Science has become politicised and commercialised to a large degree, and more and more we are ignoring pure science in favour of practical science. How else could the global warming debate still be going on unless the science itself is ignored?
Scientists are very much becoming like priests. They are finding it harder and harder to accept they don't know all the answers, and are digging their heels in harder and harder to avoid having to change their beliefs.
If you take the "standard model" of cosmology for example, there are huge holes in the theory that scientists are now saying don't matter. Dark Energy alone screws up the "standard model" so thoroughly, that it is basically being ignored. The reason? Because the "standard model" seems so elegant and complete and fits in with everyone's views.. if you're a creationist, for example, all you have to do is say god made the bang, and scientists can't argue.
The "standard model" became standard not because it had the most truth, but because it stepped on the fewest toes. Scientists lie all the time, including to themselves. This is not to say science is bad, but scientists are human, and we humans have a tendency to believe we are right and others wrong, regardless of the evidence.
Now here is the real crux of the matter... we still don't KNOW how a magnet works. We believe we have the answer, but that answer doesn't seem to fit in with other things we know properly, so like Relativity we just ignore the small error and say it's good enough for practical purposes. In this case I am talking about the difficulty of explaining forces etc at both the quantum level and the macro level with the same theory. Until one theory explains everything, our knowledge is not complete, and therefore possibly slightly or even largely wrong.
