Hi,

If you only download and never create or upload torrents it might not matter at all for you so you can probably ignore this post.

But if you are uploading torrents please read this...

Due to many people having similar problems when creating and uploading torrents (not only here but all over the net) with utorrent versions 3.1 and up I recommend that you don't use these unless you only download stuff.

Typical problems with the created torrents are "not valid bencoding" when trying to add a torrent or seeds never starting.

The version that seems to "always work" is utorrent 2.2.1

You can get it from here http://www.oldversion.com/windows/utorrent-2-2-1-25110

To use simply run it instead of your current version. Create the torrent with it and make the upload again with the new torrent file.

What versions have you tried? I dont have any experience with utorrent on mac Im afraid.
Maybe you can try Deluge or some other Mac torrent client.

Ive tried 1.8.6 build 36417, the new beta version, and 1.65 build 27634. None of them worked. I was able to copy and paste the pass key into my torrent and am showing as seeding now on the tracker however i'm afraid that anyone that tries downloading the torrent will not be getting the torrent with the passkey in it?

Thanks

Yeah Im afraid thats the case. Did you get a chance to try creating the torrent in deluge? You could probably seed it fine from utorrent after you uploaded it if the creation works.

The same problem: invalid bencoding. https://mma-torrents.com/torrents-details.php?id=34803, Mac, uTorrent 1.8.7. Any bright ideas anyone?
