Post subject: [Solved] Getting "refused to connect" error

For some reason I am getting a "refused to connect" error when I try to connect to the site. Yet, when I disconnect my VPN it allows me to connect just fine, anyone have any ideas about this?
I am in the North East US, running Windows 10, hardwired internet 695 mbps speeds down. I am on the recently updated version of Surf Shark VPN
First time I am having this problem, has been smooth sailing for years. Appreciate the help in advance!
UPDATE: Fixed it by turning off their "Clean Web" feature, that I never turned on to begin with.
