Tickets for the UFC's first event in 2010 are schedule to go on sale Nov. 12 – even though the main event has yet to be determined.

The world's largest MMA promotion today officially announced that UFC 108 is scheduled for Jan. 2 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, though a headlining bout is simply slated as "to be determined."

Tickets for the event will be available beginning Nov. 12.

The UFC's lack of a main event for the bout certainly isn't through any fault of their own. A proposed headlining contest between UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva and fan-favorite Vitor Belfort was scrapped based on needed recovery time by "The Spider," and a replacement contest between UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar and top contender Shane Carwin may also be in jeopardy according to a recent report from Yahoo! Sports.

While the UFC generally prefers to headline pay-per-view events with title fights – especially in what would represent the company's year-end event – the rumored card for the UFC 108 show is full of marketable UFC stars.

A light heavyweight contender matchup between Rashad Evans and Thiago Silva could conceivably headline the show, and planned contests of Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga, Carlos Condit vs. Paul Daley and Tyson Griffin vs. Jim Miller could easily fill out a main card.

Add in additional bouts of Martin Kampmann vs. Rory Markham, Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout, and UFC 108 still looks to be filled with recognizable names.

UFC 108 tickets on sale to the general public on Nov. 14 at 3 p.m. EST (12 p.m. PST). However, UFC.com newsletter subscribers can purchase tickets beginning at 1 p.m. EST on Nov. 13, and UFC Fight Club members can buy tickets starting Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. EST.

Although the UFC has yet to officially announce any contests for the event, UFC 108 is expected to include:

* Champ Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin (for heavyweight title)*
* Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva*
* Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga*
* Carlos Condit vs. Paul Daley*
* Tyson Griffin vs. Jim Miller*
* Martin Kampmann vs. Rory Markham*
* Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout*
* Dan Lauzon vs. Cole Miller*
* Ryan Jensen vs. Mark Munoz*
* Jake Ellenberger vs. Mike Pyle*

* - Not officially announced
