Bobby Lashley May Fight For Strikeforce NextPro wrestling superstar turned MMA fighter Bobby Lashley may soon be fighting for Strikeforce, according to a report from MMAFanhouse.com. While nothing has been confirmed, the former WWE wrestler is reportedly in talks with the organization and may be featured on their November 7th CBS card.
Lashley is currently under contract to Prize Fight Promotions, who are apparently currently negotiating to transfer his contract to Strikeforce after continually delaying a proposed fight with Ron Waterman.
The undefeated fighter is also currently signed with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, but his manager Greg Bloom stated, “Bobby’s will to fight has never gone away. He’s been ready to fight since June 28. It’s just getting the promoters to get their ducks in a row. Bobby Lashley is as committed to MMA as he’s been since he stepped in the cage. He’s always training; he’s always in the gym; he’s always ready to fight. Him being in TNA more than in MMA at this point has nothing to do with Bobby Lashley. We’re just waiting for the promoters to let us know when and where.”
Dave Meltzer recently reported that Strikeforce has previously expressed interest in Lashley, and wanted him to build him up by appearing on Strikeforce Challengers events, where he would face progressively tougher opponents.
Lashley would have support in current employer Total Nonstop Acton Wrestling (TNA), which wants to promote Lashley's fights on their programs and make him a cross-over star. Unlike the UFC, Strikeforce is willing to work with the organization, which draws 1.5 million fans weekly. Meltzer also reports that Strikeforce would not have a problem with Lashley wrestling while competing in MMA.
The September 7th Strikeforce event will take place at Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and will host the highly anticipated heavyweight bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers. Also on the card, Jake Shields faces Jason "Mayhem" Miller for the recently vacated Strikeforce middleweight title. The event marks the promotion's debut on CBS, and will be aired live at 9 p.m. ET http://www.fightline.com/news/mma/2009/ ... ndex.shtml

It's definitely the most logical organisation for him to fight for next. He's a good addition to their division roster and they'd be willing to find fights for him frequently. Just hope that they push his skills starting from his very first fight, rather than feed him cans to build off his wrestling name and fan base. He doesn't need to be in line for Fedor any time soon (!), but lets see him prove those skills he's shown so far against someone good.

If Lashley wins a couple of fights there. Fedor vs Lashley would make a huge event.

So StrikeForce is going to feature a TNA wrestler on their shows?
Why aren't the supposed "hardcores" crying about StrikeForce becoming "just like WWE lololol" for doing this?
At least Lesnar did it right, and focused solely to MMA.
