Background
The show will be the UFC’s third visit to Nebraska, with the previous two events contested in Omaha.
A lightweight bout between former WSOF Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje and Al Iaquinta was expected to serve as the event headliner. However on June 28, it was announced that Iaquinta withdrew from the bout and was replaced by James Vick.
Bryan Barberena was expected to face Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night: Rivera vs. Moraes. However, Barberena pulled out of the fight citing a leg injury and the bout was scrapped. The pairing was rescheduled for this event.
Alexa Grasso was expected to face former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion Angela Hill at the event, but pulled out on July 19 due to a knee injury. She was replaced by Cortney Casey.
Antônio Braga Neto was expected to face The Ultimate Fighter: Team Joanna vs. Team Cláudia light heavyweight winner Andrew Sanchez at the event. However, Neto was removed from the bout on August 2 for undisclosed personal issues and replaced by Markus Perez.

I am honestly more stoked for the Mickey Gall fight. That guy is a beast. He's going to be very good in the future. I see big things for him. I think his last fight humbled him and honestly gave him a taste of losing, something he's never tasted before. So now he has a bigger drive. But, for the main event. Yeah, I don't know, its really a toss up for me on this one. There both good, both scrappers, and both can bang. Should be interesting. I just think Gaethje gets himself into deepwater to early in fights all the time, and that is honestly dangerous with someone like Vick. So will definitely be interesting to see if Justin has learned anything and can hold back or if he just goes out there and does the same ol thing.

True. Its crazy, it does work, but against someone like Vick, I just don't know. Vick is the full package. Theres levels to this, and he is I think the first fight that he has truly fought that is the next level. On that Championship level. Don't get me wrong, Vick still has his flaws too, as any fighter does. But he is a more refined fighter in my opinion. But, that being said... ITS GOING TO BE EXCITING AS FUCK!!!! excuse my language... lol. All Justins fights are. He just stands and bangs, and even points at the ground and tries to get fighters to fight his fight. That is honestly why he has won so many fights. He tricks fighters into fighting his fight. It will be good. Im excited. Real excited.

What a KO that was! Vick was gone! Thought he kept distance well for the early part of the fight with kicks, he looked huge as well but then Gaethje got inside and it only took one! I actually picked Vick for the win in this fight too. He'll come back though. Can't wait to see whats next for Justin, he called out Big Ferg

KA-BOOOOOOOOM!!! ha ha ha that was great Justin Gaethje is for real that is for sure. I think Vick gave him too many reasons to be motivated, and it was great to see
