15/09/09 - UFC headed to Dublin or UK in January 2010 The UFC’s next European venture after UFC 105 will be a January show in the UK or Republic of Ireland, Fighters Only was told today. According to UFC UK president Marshall Zelaznik, the organisation is looking at a number of loacations for a January 30th show, including Dublin, Glasgow and Nottingham. Dublin is also being looked at for a March event which would take place on a weekend close to St. Patrick’s Day, which falls on March 17th. And in February the UFC is looking to expand to another new country, with a February event at the Arco Arena in Sydney, Australia. Plans are currently being drawn up for the Antipodean adventure, which is something Dana White has made public reference to recently. Meanwhile, the UFC UK office is currently engaged in promoting the November 14th event that will take place in Manchester, England (UFC 105). Tickets are already 70 per cent sold out and the event is one of the top ten fastest selling UFC shows in the organisation’s history. “We had 70 per cent of tickets sold as of yesterday. I had a look at some charts today and its in the top ten fastest-selling shows in UFC history. The presale before Randy [Couture] was announced was already going through the roof,” Zelaznik told Fighters Only today.
