Tyrone Spong, who for years has been one of the top 209-pound kickboxers in the world, has officially signed with the new World Series of Fighting organization.

He has signed a three-fight deal, and will debut on the promotion's first show on Nov. 3, according to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani, who confirmed the news with WSOF's executive senior vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz.

Spong has been training MMA for about two years, and of late has been at the Blackzillians camp in Boca Raton, Fla., working extensively with the likes of Rashad Evans and former K-1 opponent Alistair Overeem Spong had stated on Inside MMA a few weeks back that he would make his MMA debut with Titan Fighting Championships on their show on Nov. 2, but he had never officially signed his contract with the group.

Spong's opponent is not finalized for the show that will air live on NBC Sports Network from Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Spong, 27, was the world champion at 95 kilograms for the kickboxing group, "It's Showtime," based in The Netherlands. While he was burn in Suriname on the Northern coast of South America, he grew up in The Netherlands. He has a 68-6-1, 1 no contest record as a kickboxer, with 42 knockouts. He's fought twice as a kickboxer this year. He defeated well-known international MMA star Melvin Manhoef via decision on Jan. 28, and heavyweight kickboxing legend Peter Aerts via knockout in a June 30 fight in Brussels, Belgium.

In 2010. when Overeem won the K-1 World Grand Prix, Spong, as an undersized heavyweight, gave him his toughest fight, losing via decision.
