You can't keep a good woman down.

Former Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion Sarah Kaufman (15-2), who came up short in her bid to dethrone reigning division titleholder Ronda Rousey earlier this month in San Diego, has already booked her next fight against Kaitlin Young (7-6) at the Invicta Fighting Championships mixed martial arts (MMA) event on Sat., Oct. 6, 2012 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City.

From Kaufman:

"Invicta FC has made huge waves for women in MMA over the last five months. It's been amazing to watch so many of the top women all fight on the same card, so I'm looking forward to be a part of their next show. Kaitlin is a very strong 135 pounder. She's got a lot of height and is quite technical in many areas. I'm excited to get in there against her, especially in the wake of the worst performance of my career. I'm hungry to get back in there and prove why I'm ranked at the top of my weight class."

Young is also looking to get back into the win column following a second round submission loss to former Strikeforce "Girl-Rilla," Liz Carmouche, at the Invicta FC sophomore effort back on July 28, which followed a split draw against Leslie Smith in their "Fight of the Night" last April.

Invicta FC 3 will feature Jessica Penne taking on undefeated import Naho Sugiyama in the main event for the promotion's first-ever Atomweight world title while Shayna Baszler gets busy in the bantamweight division opposite Sarah D'Alelio.
