The event will be the seventh that the organization has held in Louisiana and first since UFC 37 in 2002.
The main event between Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger was expected to be the first five round non-title fight in UFC history, but the fight will instead be contested at three rounds.
Mackens Semerzier was expected to face Mike Lullo at the event, but pulled out of the event on August 31[8] and was replaced by Robert Peralta
DaMarques Johnson was expected to face Clay Harvison at the event, but pulled out of the bout with an injury on August 31 and was replaced by Seth Baczynski.
