Jose Aldo's rehab to repair a compacted vertebrae in his spine "is going well," according to his manager Ed Soares.
So well that the UFC featherweight champion "would like to fight as soon as March," Soares told Versus.com via text message.
When it was announced that Aldo was forced to pull out of his scheduled Jan. 1 title fight against Josh Grispi due to injury, it was unclear just how serious the injury was and how long he would be out for.
Thankfully for the former WEC 145-pound champion, he didn't require surgery for the injury that was causing him to lose feeling in both his arms and his rehab is well underway.
Aldo was awarded the first-ever UFC featherweight title at UFC 123 in November. There is no clear No. 1 contender to the title as of right now. Grispi is set to face Dustin Poirier at UFC 125, while Mark Hominick, Chad Mendes and Michihiro Omigawa are other possible opponents for Aldo.Source: http://www.versus.com/blogs/mma-beat/jo ... -in-march/
