As mixed martial arts continues to grow in popularity, so does the demand for officially licensed products of all kinds throughout the marketplace.

With that in mind, UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva (27-4 MMA, 12-0 UFC) has partnered with California watchmaker Meister International to release a limited edition signature watch.

Just 200 of the watches were produced, and the hand-numbered pieces, which retail for $250, go on sale today.

The watches, which can be viewed in detail here, bear Silva's famed killer bee logo on a special black and yellow version of the company's popular Chief design.

Beginning Black Friday, 50 pieces are available through Meister's official online store, while the remaining watches will be distributed to select Meister retailers. Check the company's official website for more details.

Previous special-edition pieces issued by Meister International include two watches created with rapper Bun B, formerly of the hip hop duo UGK. The company's products are also endorsed by musician Steve Aoki and rapper and Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon.

The Meister watch is just the latest in a series of products bearing Silva's signature logo. Sinister Brand Clothing, a California-based apparel company recently acquired by Authentic Brands Group, has long created clothing bearing the killer bee.

In August, Silva also commissioned a signature Camaro SS, created by the famed car remodeling company West Coast Customs.

Silva, who currently carries an unprecedented 12-fight UFC win streak, next faces top contender Vitor Belfort at UFC 126 in February.

Looks okay, but nothing special.

Is it just me, or does the detail pic (available on the original junkie site) make the watch look like cheap plastic? Then again, $250 isn't a huge amount of money for a quality watch by any means - was fearing a lot higher for a celeb-endorsed designer/fashion watch - so maybe it is plastic ;-)
