Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn have both shown little respect to their nearest rivals, admitting they do not care who wins out of Kenny Florian and Gray Maynard.
Edgar and Penn provide the climax to a mini-tournament in the lightweight division at UFC 118, with the winner of their fight more-than-likely to face the winner of Florian v Maynard.
Penn has beaten Florian in the past and Edgar has lost to Maynard, so there are scripts already written depending on the night's outcome on August 28.
However, neither Penn nor champion Edgar gave their rivals the time of day in a recent phone conference, which was particular surprising given Penn's role as a coach to Maynard during the TUF 5 reality series.
"I couldn't care less about that fight to tell you the truth," commented the Prodigy.
Edgar added: "Honestly I probably won't be watching them at all."
