Anderson Silva became one of MMA's most hated men after his display at UFC 112. It was his third straight boring title defense and UFC presidnet Dana White let him know about it. The fans did as well, however that hasn't slowed the Brazilian's popularity too much. Although the sport's most efficient gunslinger hasn't provided devastating finishes in his last few title defenses, it isn't due to his lack of respect for the competition. In fact, the Brazilian chalks it all up to a good 'ol case of the misunderstandings – so, please save your boos for a rainy day. "The fans are fans. They're cheering one minute, they're booing you the next minute," Silva said. "A lot of times, fans (are) the greatest thing ever, but sometimes fans don't really understand what's happening in the ring at times. So, I don't really blame them for reacting in some of the ways they react." Despite the heat he's received for not showcasing his scintillating skills, it's undeniable that he's steamrolled everyone that has crossed his path within the last four years. He's clearly the baddest fighter alive, but that's on display strictly at his discretion. Silva puts his title on the line August 7th against bitter rival Chael Sonnen, who has quickly emerged as the sport's best antagonist. While the challenger has done everything in his power to rattle the king's cage, the rest of the division may be wishing he let this sleeping dog lie.
