  The latest edition of the Strikeforce Challengers series takes place Friday night on Showtime from Everett, Wash with Sarah Kaufman defending her 135lb title against Roxanne Modafferi, and heavyweights Shane Del Rosario and Lolohea Mahe battling it out in the main event.
The fighters for the show hit the scales on Thursday with all of them making weight, including the championship competitors, now making the title fight official.
After winning the title in February, Sarah Kaufman returns to make her first championship defense against a very wily veteran opponent in Roxanne Modafferi.
“I’m expecting Roxy to bring a fight. I don’t think she’s going to back down, but I do think she’ll try to take it to the ground," said Kaufman. “I’m looking to knock her out. You always want to finish it.”
Modafferi showed respect to her opponent, but also sounded confident heading into the title fight.
“Sarah is a powerful fighter," Modafferi commented. "I’m looking forward to the challenge of facing her.”
