Former WWE exec Carl DeMarco: "Absolutely no truth" to rumors he's heading to the UFC UFC bosses have announced they'll be gathering the media on Tuesday, May 25, at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, where UFC president Dana White is expected to make a major announcement. Former WWE Canada president Carl DeMarco has no idea what the UFC plans to announce, but he knows for certain one thing they won't. Despite a report issued today by Sportsnet.ca that DeMarco is expected to head a Canadian branch of the UFC, DeMarco today said that is categorically untrue. "There's no truth to it whatsoever," DeMarco told MMAjunkie.com. "I know the UFC guys. I think it's a great organization, and I have a lot of respect for them, but I just have way too many ventures on the go, and I absolutely have no time to assume a position like that. There's no truth to that rumor whatsoever." DeMarco was also linked to the UFC in November 2009 when several outlets reported the WWE exec, along with fellow former WWE boss Shane McMahon, had met with the UFC about potential positions with the company. DeMarco said those reports were also unfounded. "I don't know why my name keeps getting dragged into these things," DeMarco said. "I don't know why the media is always trying to tie me in with the UFC somehow. This has happened before. There seems to be some sort of fascination with it, but there's just no truth to it." DeMarco, a highly respected executive who left the WWE in 2009 after 14 years on the job, is currently involved in a number of new ventures that have left him with little time to involve himself with the UFC. "I love the UFC," DeMarco said. "They're great guys. I think they've done a tremendous job, but right now for me, I just have so many great things on the go. I've got a bunch of different business ventures. I just don't have the time." Despite the apparent misplaced rumor, DeMarco didn't shut the door entirely on a future potential partnership with the world's biggest mixed martial arts promotion. "I have a lot of respect for the whole organization," DeMarco said. "I think they've done a great job for their brand, but right now I have no plans regarding that. I just have too many things on my plate right now. "Down the road, that might be another case, but right now, it's not in my current plans."
