Background
Following a successful submission victory in the main event of this past December's CFFC BJJ 16 event, Canadian grappling powerhouse Oliver Taza will return to headline CFFC BJJ 17, as well, taking on fellow promotional veteran Sean Yadimarco in a middleweight clash on Friday, April 3 at Philadelphia's historic 2300 Arena.
Additionally, UFC BJJ veteran and five-time ADCC Trials medalist Keith Krikorian takes on a returning Matt Masch in a lightweight co-main event at CFFC's latest professional grappling spectacular, while teenage sensation Joslyn Molina is back to take on CK MMA standout Kate "Big Kat" Sandmeyer at featherweight, and UFC Fight Pass Invitational veteran Christiano Troisi faces two-time CFFC BJJ veteran and fellow light heavyweight Sergio Vilas in key featured matches.
"As we announce our first CFFC BJJ event of 2026, we're thrilled to continue supporting the UFC BJJ team in their commitment to growing the sport of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and submission grappling," CFFC CEO and President Rob Haydak said. "We've got another outstanding group of athletes competing under the same ruleset as UFC BJJ looking to secure their bids to compete at the sport's highest level alongside CFFC BJJ veterans like Elder Cruz, Taylor Hishaw, Devhonte Johnson, Bella Mir and Nick Rodriguez, who have all recently received the call to compete at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas.
"Put those incredible athletes with our commitment to top-level production and non-stop action on the mats, and you've got a night of entertainment you don't want to miss."
Beyond the night's featured contests, additional matches already set for the card include a trio of welterweight bouts with Max Livingston vs. John Romero, Matt Cantwell vs. Savion Maranon and Tyler Carroll vs. Brandon Smith, as well as women's featherweights Bella Miller vs. Molli Zborowski, Nick DiGiacomo vs. Angelo Sullo in a 140-pound catchweight contest, bantamweights Adam Krinic vs. Nieko Malone, middleweights Aldo Beqiraj vs. Christian Hagans, women's bantamweights Angelina Hernandez vs. Lia Knox-Hershey, lightweights John Lyons vs. TJ Salas, and RJ Jimenez vs. Casey Malik at 195 pounds.
