Background
It's KnuckleMania VI Fight Week in Philly!
Batten down the hatches because it’s KnuckleMania VI Fight Week!
The world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion returns to its hometown of Philadelphia on Saturday under the bright lights of the iconic Xfinity Mobile Arena in “The City of Brotherly Love.”
The undefeated “Big” Ben Rothwell defends his BKFC World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in Saturday’s Main Event against Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski. Arlovski is the proud owner of a pair of MMA victories over Rothwell. The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champ Arlovski made a smashing first impression in his BKFC premiere, but Rothwell has been exceptional in his first four trips to the Squared Circle.
Saturday’s must-see Co-Main Event pits BKFC World Middleweight Champion David “Redneck” Mundell against BKFC World Light-Heavyweight Champion Lorenzo “The Juggernaut” Hunt in a jaw-dropping, non-title matchup. Mundell and Hunt boast a combined bare knuckle fighting record of 22-3. Mundell is riding high on an eight-fight winning streak, and he knows a statement victory over the former two-division BKFC World Champion Hunt would elevate him to superstar status in the Squared Circle.
One of the most hotly anticipated rematches in BKFC history takes place in Saturday’s Featured Fight. Tony “Loco” Soto is dialed in for a shot at redemption against former BKFC World Lightweight Champion Ben “The Bomber” Bonner. The two clashed in the Main Event of BKFC 76 in June in one of the most electric fights in BKFC history.
The undefeated John “Johnny Canoli” Garbarino is chomping at the bit for the opportunity to smash his way to 4-0 at the expense of Kaine “Kaine 9” Tomlinson Jr. in their heated rivalry matchup. Tomlinson Jr., who makes his fifth trip to the Squared Circle, knocked out Garbarino’s close friend and training partner last year, and their respective teams had to be separated physically at the KnuckleMania VI Launch Press Conference.
Major rankings implications in the fully loaded BKFC heavyweight division are on the line Saturday when Patrick “The Brick” Brady and Bear “The Last Barbarian” Hill collide. Brady and Hill both boast 2-0 records, with all four of their victories coming by stoppage. BKFC fans around the world are also eager to see former BKFC Championship challenger Jade “Evil Smile” Masson-Wong and Crystal “The Rugged Beauty” Pittman do battle in women’s bantamweight action. Among other must-see matchups Saturday is a can’t-miss cruiserweight clash between fan-favorite Zach “Shark Attack” Calmus and the unbeaten Lex “The Grizzly Bear” Ludlow.
