Background

The Toon Title Showdown: Two World Championships Decided at Cage Warriors 199!

Cage Warriors returns to the electric Vertu Arena in Newcastle, England, for its final and most explosive event of the year, Cage Warriors 199: Clancy Jr vs. van Suijdam, on December 6, 2025. This stacked card will bring down the curtain on the 2025 season with a massive double championship feature, guaranteeing fireworks in the North East.

Interim Welterweight Championship: Undefeated Power vs. Veteran Grit

The main event sees Scotland's undefeated finishing machine Sean Clancy Jr. (7-0-0) meet the tough Dutch veteran Melvin van Suijdam (13-7-0) for the Interim Welterweight Championship.

Sean "The One" Clancy Jr. has lived up to his nickname, storming through the division with a perfect professional record and a 100% professional finishing rate. Known for his crushing body shots, relentless pressure, and submissions, Clancy is one of Europe's hottest prospects, coming off a submission victory over a notoriously durable opponent.

He faces Melvin van Suijdam, a highly experienced fighter from the Netherlands who has tested himself against high-level competition for over a decade. Van Suijdam’s durability and varied skillset make him the most dangerous test of Clancy's career. This is a five-round battle where Clancy’s finishing instinct must break through the veteran's resolve to claim his first major title.

Flyweight Championship: Hometown Hero vs. French Finisher

The second title fight is for the Flyweight Championship (125 lbs) as local hero Shajidul "Superman" Haque (17-5-0) defends his title against the French powerhouse Nicolas Leblond (12-4-0).

Champion Shajidul Haque, fighting out of nearby South Shields, finally gets to defend his title with the support of a roaring North East crowd. A long-reigning champion known for his high-tempo, high-skill fights and grit, Haque previously won the title with a spectacular highlight-reel knockout.

He faces Nicolas Leblond, a lethal French challenger with a strong Judo background and considerable punching power. Leblond is riding a six-fight win streak and has been chasing this championship for over a year, turning in highlight-reel stoppage victories over top contenders. After two previous bookings were canceled, the third time promises to be the charm in this highly anticipated clash of styles.

Lightweight Showcase: The Former King Returns

The main card is further ignited by a pivotal Lightweight showcase bout (155 lbs) featuring former Cage Warriors Lightweight Champion George Hardwick (14-3-0) against the Swiss sensation Daniel "The Swiss Army Knife" Konrad (7-2-0).

Hardwick, known for his relentlessly entertaining, aggressive style and blood-and-guts wars, is looking to reclaim his throne after returning to the win column in his recent North East homecoming. He meets Daniel Konrad, who is fighting at his natural 155 lbs weight class after going to war with a welterweight contender in his debut. Konrad is a multi-talented fighter who previously steamrolled a Bellator veteran, proving his elite credentials. This is a must-see, non-title battle between two of the division's most dangerous finishers.
