The Showtime Arrival: Anthony Pettis FC Launches in India with Bengaluru Fight Night 1

The new era of Indian mixed martial arts officially begins as the Anthony Pettis Fighting Championship (APFC) hosts its inaugural event on the subcontinent: Anthony Pettis FC India 1: Bengaluru Fight Night 1. The action explodes on December 5, 2025, at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium Park in Bengaluru, Karnataka, featuring the best emerging talent from India and beyond, headlined by a high-stakes Flyweight clash.

Main Event: India’s Top Flyweights Collide

In the 125 lbs main event, top-ranked Indian Flyweight Sumit "The Indian Kid" Kumar (9-1-0) takes on the formidable Ehtesham Ansari (6-2-0).

Sumit Kumar, a fighter with international experience and a strong background from Team Alpha Male, possesses a high-pressure, technical game. Known for his crisp striking and impressive takedown average of 6.00 per 15 minutes, Kumar is a threat both standing and on the mat. He’s looking to cement his status as the division's elite in front of the home crowd.

Across the cage, Ehtesham Ansari is a well-traveled veteran who has recently sharpened his skills training in Dagestan, the Russian Republic known for its elite wrestling pedigree. Ansari, a National Gold medalist in wrestling, boasts a high finishing rate with a mix of submissions and knockouts. This is a classic India vs. India main event, where the aggressive, technical striking and wrestling of Kumar will meet the refined, Dagestani-trained grappling and pressure of Ansari in a pivotal fight for Flyweight supremacy.

Welterweight Prospect vs. Veteran Power

The main card is packed with highly competitive matchups that will propel the careers of the winners.

In the Welterweight division (170 lbs), the undefeated prospect Prathmesh Anil Deshpande (4-0-0) faces off against the experienced Sumit Bhyan (3-2-0). Deshpande, who is yet to taste defeat, will be tested against Bhyan, a fighter who has campaigned on major regional stages and holds a competitive professional record. This is a crucial step up for the unbeaten prospect against a tough veteran.

Global Talent and Indian Finishers

The card also features key international matchups showcasing the global reach of the APFC brand.

The Bantamweight division (135 lbs) will see two competitive international bouts. India’s Singh Niranjan (2-1-0) meets the Russian Murad Kurbanov (9-5-0), a fighter who brings significant experience and finishing power to the cage. Additionally, Prakhar Shubhasung (3-2-0) takes on the undefeated Croatian Luka Pisarić (1-0-0), in a clash of Indian grit against surging European momentum.

Featherweight action at 145 lbs features a showcase of young Indian finishers, including the unbeaten Atharva Deshmukh and the promising Mudassar Shaikh, who are both looking to make a statement on the biggest platform of their careers.
