Background

This November, the KSW organization will bring its event to Szczecin for the fourth time in its history. The main event of the XTB KSW 112 gala will feature a clash for the interim featherweight championship belt. In this bout, Patryk Kaczmarczyk (12-3, 3 KOs, 2 subs), the number one ranked fighter in this weight class, will face number two, Adam Soldaev (10-2, 6 KOs, 1 sub). The bout will take place on November 15th at the Netto Arena.

Patryk Kaczmarczyk has been competing in KSW since 2021. During this time, he has fought nine times, six of which he won. His last fight was in January of this year, defeating Ahmed Vila. He was scheduled to return to the cage in July, but an injury prevented him from competing against Leo Brichta. The RKT Radom representative already fought for the interim featherweight title in 2024, but was forced to concede the superiority of Robert Ruchała. Kaczmarczyk has fifteen professional fights under his belt, twelve of which he won. In KSW, he earned two bonuses for best fights and one for best knockout of the night. The 27-year-old has also won the Armia Fight Night championship title. He was also awarded the prestigious Herakles statuette in the "Discovery of the Year 2020" category.

Adam Soldaev has six fights in KSW, five of which he won. He last competed in July, when he stepped in for Patryk Kaczmarczyk against Leo Brichta and knocked out the Czech in style. This finish earned him a bonus and was Soldaev's third best knockout award in a round cage. The WCA Fight Team representative met Patryk Kaczmarczyk face-to-face immediately after his last fight, sealing the deal for their upcoming bout. Soldev, who is riding a three-fight winning streak, has 12 professional fights under his belt, ten of which he has won. Seven of his victories have come by stoppage, six of which have come in the first round.

Romanowski to face Van De Merckt.

KSW 112 in Szczecin will feature a strong middleweight matchup. Tomasz Romanowski (18-11 1NC, 7 KO, 1 Sub), a striking former title challenger, will face Belgian Alain Van De Merckt (9-1, 4 KO, 5 Sub), who likes to finish fights early.

Tomasz Romanowski is a former KSW middleweight title challenger with ten fights under his belt. He last fought in March. He challenged for the interim title but was defeated by Piotr Kuberski. The popular "Tommy" is known for his exciting fighting style. In KSW, he has already earned five bonuses: three for best knockouts, and two for best fight of the night. Radosław Paczuski, Cezary Kęsik, Andrzej Grzebyk, Michał Pietrzak, and Aleksandar Rakas have all fallen to his punches. The Stargard fighter has eighteen career wins, eight in the first round and seven by knockout.

Alain Van De Merckt made his professional MMA debut in 2022 and stormed through his fights. He has fought eight fights, winning all by knockout. He has four knockouts and the same number of submissions. He has six first-round victories. Last December, he made his KSW debut, but was defeated by Laïd Zerhouni, who ended the Belgian's winning streak. In his next fight, Van De Merckt dominated Borys Dzikowski on the ground and won by submission. Before entering the round cage, Van De Merckt fought most of his fights in the Netherlands, but also competed in his native Belgium, where in 2024 he won the middleweight championship belt of the local organization Levels Fight League.

Poland's top lightweight contenders will clash.

Marcin Held (30-10, 4 KOs, 16 Sub), the number three ranked lightweight in this weight class, will face former champion and current number four, Marian Ziółkowski (25-10-1 1NC, 6 KOs, 13 Sub).

Marcin Held will be fighting his fourth round cage fight. He last fought at XTB KSW 101, where he impressively submitted Davy Gallon, earning him a bonus. After this fight, he was scheduled to fight Salahdine Parnasse for the championship belt, but had to withdraw due to injury. Held is one of the most experienced Polish MMA fighters. For many years, he competed under the wings of the world's largest MMA organizations, fighting for brands such as UFC, Bellator, and the Professional Fighters League. The Tychy-based fighter is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and specializes in finishing opponents on the ground. He has won 20 fights by knockout, 16 of which by submission, and 12 times he has won in the first round. He has 40 fights under his belt, 30 of which he won.

Marian Ziółkowski will return to the cage after his lightweight title fight. At the KSW event in France in May, he stepped in for Marcin Held to face Salahdine Parnasse, but was forced to concede his superiority in the cage. Ziółkowski is the former KSW lightweight champion. He held the title for two and a half years, defending it three times during that time. He later relinquished the belt due to injuries and a lengthy layoff. The popular "Golden Boy" is a highly experienced fighter, with nearly 40 fights under his belt, 25 wins, and 19 stoppages. He has already fought ten times in the KSW cage and has been competing professionally since 2011.
