Phil Davis: "Mr. Wonderful" Aims for One Last Title Run
Phil Davis (24-7-0, 1 NC), one of the greatest light heavyweights of his time, is stepping back into the PFL cage for an exciting final pursuit of glory! At 40 years young, Davis, a former Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion and a four-time NCAA Division I All-American, continues to amaze with his incredible durability. Remarkably, he has never been finished in 32 professional fights! With his strong wrestling skills and sharp striking, he’s sure to present a tough challenge for anyone. However, after nearly two years away from competition, questions arise: Can Davis still compete at an elite level, or is this truly "The Last Dance" for "Mr. Wonderful"?
Rob Wilkinson: "Razor" Looks to Rebound
Rob Wilkinson (19-3-0, 1 NC) will be facing Davis in this matchup. Wilkinson, the 2022 PFL Light Heavyweight Champion, is looking to bounce back after suffering his first loss in over seven years during the 2024 PFL Playoffs. Known for his explosive power and aggressive fighting style, he has achieved 14 first-round stoppages throughout his career. A victory over a legendary fighter like Davis would not only help restore his momentum but also solidify his position among the elite light heavyweights in the world. With training connections to City Kickboxing and Israel Adesanya, Wilkinson enters the fight sharpened and highly motivated.
This is not just a fight; it’s a clash of eras. Davis represents a generation known for tactical mastery and resilience, while Wilkinson embodies the new age characterized by an aggressive, finish-first mentality. With elimination at stake, expect an explosive showdown from the very first bell.
Linton Vassell was scheduled to face Oleg Popov in a heavyweight tournament bout at this event. However, on April 28, it was announced he has pulled out of the bout and was replaced by Karl Williams.
