Background
Don’t blink because it’s Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Fight Week – BKFC 52 rocks Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC on Friday.
In the Main Event, Reggie "Educated Hands" Barnett Jr. defends his BKFC World Bantamweight Championship against undefeated challenger Keith "The Rockstar" Richardson. Barnett Jr. is one of the most skilled and accomplished fighters to ever grace the Squared Circle. He’s No. 3 on the BKFC Pound-for-Pound rankings, and boasts a record of 9-2. A victory for Barnett Jr. on Friday will place him in a tie with Lorenzo Hunt for most victories in BKFC history. Barnett Jr. enters fight night on the strength of three straight wins, and six victories in his last seven trips to the Squared Circle. Richardson, a former battled-tested MMA fighter, is unbeaten in his first three BKFC bouts. He’s looked fantastic early in his BKFC career and is hunting for his third straight, first-round finish against Barnett Jr.
Major title implications are on the line as two of the best undefeated fighters on the BKFC roster collide in Friday’s Co-Main Event. Tony “Loco” Soto (5-0) battles Kevin “Crash’ Croom (2-0) in lightweight action in the highly anticipated penultimate fight of the night. Soto is the No. 3 contender in the stacked weight class, and hoping to cash his ticket to a title shot with a big win over the fast-rising Croom. Croom, a UFC vet, is hoping to do the same with a third straight stoppage victory over Soto.
Friday's action is loaded with a number of other can't-miss fights, including a welterweight showdown between Jeremie “Hit Em” Holloway (0-0-1) and debuting UFC vet Cameron “Jumpman” VanCamp. Hardcore fans are excited to see a number of fan-favorite fighters return to the Squared Circle, like Brandon Bushaw (1-0), Samuel "Ace" Samples (1-0), Trukon "The Carolina Gamedog" Carson (1-1), Trevor Loken (1-1), Chevvy "Wild Man" Bridges (1-2), Darrick "The Buck" Gates (1-3) and Josh "Danger" Marer (0-2), amongst others.
