 Background

An unification KSW Featherweight Championship bout between current two-division champion Salahdine Parnasse and interim champion Robert Ruchała was booked as the event headliner.

The undisputed KSW featherweight championship will be decided this Saturday as Salahdine Parnasse (17-1) meets Robert Ruchala (9-0) in the main event of XTB KSW 85.

Parnasse is the current KSW lightweight & featherweight title holder and one of the top prospects in the world today. The 25-year-old has held the 145 lb strap since KSW 65 at the end of 2021 – in what is his second reign of the division – and recently captured gold at 155 lb. During his quest for a second title, the undefeated Ruchala stepped in and won the interim-featherweight championship.

Now the pair will meet in Ruchala’s hometown of Nowy Sacz on August 19 to decide who will take the undisputed crown of the featherweight division.

In the co-main event, light heavyweight champ Ibragim Chuzhigaev (17-5) goes up against KO machine Bogdan Gnidko (10-0) in what should be a thrilling encounter.

Chuzhigaev won the title thanks to a five-round masterclass performance against the former longtime champ Tomasz Narkun and has since defended once against Ivan Erslan in another five-round battle. On the flip side, Gnidko has yet to leave the first round in his ten professional fights and his total fight time in KSW stands at just under two minutes in three outings. Anything can happen in this fight.

Elsewhere on the card, top prospects Patryk Kaczmarczyk (9-2) & Danu Tarchila (6-1) meet, former Jungle Fights champ Kleber Silva (21-11) collides with Rafal Kijanczuk (12-6), the undefeated Adrianna Kreft (5-0) faces Brazil’s Yasmin Guimaraes (5-1), and 19-year-old Wiktoria Czyzewska (2-0) takes on Lebanon’s Sandra Succar (1-0) in the opening bout of the night.
