For the first time in the history of the league, the Budo Sento Championship will be presented in the interior of the Republic, with the Port of Veracruz being the venue for this fifteenth edition within the framework of the Carnival of this city.
For this edition, one of the most complete billboards has been prepared, in which fifteen fights will be presented in the main disciplines; Budo Striking (aka Muay Thai), and MMA. The event will take place on Friday, June 30 with the support of the Veracruz Secretary of Tourism, in the "Benito Juárez Auditorium" at 6:00 p.m. mx.
In addition, and as is customary in each of its events, it will begin with a free amateur function for the public present; This time there will be ten fights, eight being Budo Striking and two MMA.
Seven mixed martial arts (MMA) bouts will be presented on the main card, with fighters from various countries such as; Argentina, United States, Honduras, and Mexico. The co-main event will be at 185 pounds with Esteban "El ojos" Negrete against the Honduran Walter "Show time" Luna.
The most anticipated and hard-fought fight of the MMA discipline will be in charge of the Mexicans Antonio "Malilla" Rodríguez against the Mexican Luis "El dragón" Cerón. Said fight is agreed to 5 rounds, at 135 pounds (bantamweight).
In the discipline of Budo Striking (Muay Thai) eight fights will take place, with an international billboard; Germany, Argentina, Costa Rica and Mexico. As well as various fighters from Veracruz. The co-main fight will star Sebastián "Sagat" Ramírez from Costa Rica against Juan Antonio "Big boy" Totomol from Veracruz, a fight agreed at 83kg.
The stellar fight for the 65-kilo belt will be fought by the Mexican Carlos "Diamante" Guerra, who will fight against the Argentine Marcos "Wasabi" Ríos, who has fought in important international leagues such as Glory from Singapore. For his part, the Mexican has had important fights in leagues like Bare Knuckle in the United States, where fighters fight barehanded.
Unlike professional Muay Thai, in Budo Striking the fights are agreed to three rounds of four minutes, clinch of up to three seconds and with MMA gloves. Only the championship fight is agreed to four rounds.
The discipline of Budo Striking (Muay Thai) will be broadcast on the Budo Sento Championship social networks (Facebook and YouTube); the seven MMA bouts will be broadcast to more than 200 countries through the UFC Fight Pass platform. In addition, the event will be broadcast in three deferred programs on pay TV by Fox Sports Mexico, on Sunday afternoon primetime.
