Background
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship returns to the beautiful state of Montana for the fourth time this week as BKFC 44 goes down Friday under the bright lights at Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls, MT, LIVE on The BKFC App.
The vacant BKFC World Featherweight Championship is on the line as the unbeaten Kai “Hefty Bag” Stewart (3-0, 2 KOs) and Louie “El Loco” Lopez (3-1, 3 KOs) collide in a hugely anticipated Main Event showdown. This is a grudge match that’s been years in the making, so don’t expect any pre-fight handshakes from these two battle-tested, 145-pound wrecking machines. On Friday evening we’ll know who’s the best bare knuckle fighter in Montana – both fighters call Great Falls home – and more importantly who’s the baddest man in the BKFC’s fully loaded featherweight division. Neither Stewart or Lopez are looking for anything less than a knockout.
The judges shouldn’t be necessary for Friday’s Co-Main Event either.
After scoring a jaw-dropping, 14-second KO in his Squared Circle debut in October, five-time Bellator MMA vet Lloyd "Cupcake" Mix looks to climb to 2-0 against Dallas Davison in welterweight action. Davison is 2-1 under the BKFC banner, with both of his victories coming by stoppage. Don’t blink.
Friday’s event is filled with fun fights. One bout from this weekend’s offering that simply can’t be missed is the welterweight clash between Billy Wagner (3-0) and Bryce “Baby Yaga” Henry (1-0). All of Wagner’s wins have come by stoppage, and Henry is coming off a KO in his debut. These two combatants also have extensive pro boxing experience – Henry is 6-0 and Wagner is 5-3.
The two top dogs in BKFC’s fully loaded featherweight division finally do battle in the Main Event of BKFC 44 on Friday in Great Falls, MT are.
Kai “Hefty Bag” Stewart is the No. 1 contender in the division. The former Montana state high school wrestling champ is undefeated in his first three trips to the BKFC Squared Circle. Two of the Great Falls, MT product’s victories have come by first-round stoppage. He’s coming off a split-decision win over Rusty Crowder (4-4), the No. 5 contender in the weight class.
Louie “El Loco” Lopez is the No. 2 contender in the featherweight division. He is 3-1 on the strength of back-to-back stoppage victories, most recently scoring a first-round finish over Howard Davis (3-1-1), the No. 3 contender at 145 pounds. All of the Great Falls fighter’s wins have come by stoppage before the fifth round.
