Background
Two World Championships are on the line Friday as Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship makes its hugely anticipated debut in the state of Virginia with BKFC 39 at Scope Arena in Norfolk, LIVE on The BKFC App.
In the Main Event, Reggie “Educated Hands” Barnett Jr. defends his BKFC World Bantamweight Championship against challenger Daniel Alvarez. The Co-Main Event features a highly charged rematch between BKFC World Women’s Strawweight Champion Britain Hart and challenger Jenny “Savage” Clausius.
Both hugely anticipated BKFC title bouts feature a battle-tested icon of the game defending their crown against fast-rising challengers. Barnett Jr. (8-2, 2 KOs) is No. 3 on the BKFC Pound-for-Pound rankings. The young gun Alvarez (1-0, 1 KO) steps in as a short-notice injury replacement after scoring a first-round KO over JR Ridge, the No. 1-ranked BKFC flyweight, in his Squared Circle debut. Hart (6-3, 2 KOs) is the most active female fighter in BKFC history, while Clausius (3-1, 2 KOs) has rapidly been climbing the rankings since her 2020 debut in the Squared Circle.
There are several other can’t-miss fights taking place Friday, including the Feature Fight of the night between UFC vet Dustin "The Disciple" Pague (1-1, 1 KO) and James "Knucklehead" Dennis (1-1, 1 KO), as well as the return of fan-favorites Jay “Action” Jackson (2-2, 2 KOs), Idris “Grumpy Bear” Wasi (1-1, 1 KO), Zach Calmus (1-2), Stanislav Grosu (1-2, 1 KO), David Simpson (1-2, 1 KO) and Dimitri “The Modern Gladiator” Angelini (0-1).
