ARES FC will hold its third event of the year this Thursday, March 9 at the Dôme de Paris with ARES 13: Lapilus vs Beltran. Ares is back for its thirteenth edition, which will be marked in particular by the great debut of Ragnar Le Breton within the organization.
The previous edition took place in February , and crowned a new champion in the bantamweight category . Faced with Elias Boudegzdame , Demarte Pena had resisted the onslaught of his opponent during the five rounds to seize the vacant title. In the co-main event, the Brazilian Felipe Colares made his debut in the organization by submitting Alioune Nahaye in the first round.
In the main event of the evening, Damien Lapilus (20−14−3) and Marco Beltran (18−7) will face off for the vacant 66kg belt.
Lapilus, 33, is on a four-fight unbeaten streak. After having signed three consecutive successes, the last of which was against Amin Ayoub. “Frankenstein” reunited with Ayoub in his last outing and this time the two fighters parted ways in a draw. Usually evolving in the ‑70kg category, Lapilus will make its comeback in the 66kg category.
In the co-main event, Ibrahim Mané (11-4) will face Italian Leonardo Damiani ( 11-5-1) in the -77kg category.
If the fight between Lapilus and Beltran should be of interest to purists, it is another fight that is at the center of all discussions. And for good reason: the very popular Ragnar Le Breton (Matthias Quiviger of his real name) will fight for the first time in front of an audience. His debut took place behind closed doors a few months ago, leading to controversy due to the rather specific terms of this event. For his debut at Ares, Ragnar will face Daniel Lentié in the heavy category (-120 kg). Emeritus kickboxer, Lentié has more than 40 kickboxing fights to his credit , and he will also make his MMA debut on Thursday.
Several well-known names in the organization will also be back for this thirteenth edition. This is particularly the case of the Italian Leonardo Damiani , who bowed to general surprise during his last fight in the organization, beaten in the decision by Laureano Staropoli. Aboubakar Younousov , younger brother of Turpal Younousov, will also be present, as will the unstoppable David “Tona” Crol , who delivered an impressive performance in his last appearance in the cage.
