Background

The first KSW event of 2023 takes place this Saturday, January 21. XTB KSW 78 will take place at the Netto Arena in Szczecin, Poland.

Ten years after their all-time KSW classic, Michal Materla (31-9) and Kendall Grove (24-18) will clash once again. Their first fight, which took place way back at KSW 23, is infamously known as one of the bloodiest fights in KSW history and it was Materla who got his hand raised after the three round battle.

The co-main event will see two Polish fan-favourites collide as hometown hero Tomasz Romanowski (17-8) meets the undefeated Radoslaw Paczuski (5-0) in a potential title eliminator in the middleweight division.

Elsewhere on the card, two huge lightweight fights take place as Poland's Roman Szymanski (16-6) welcomes Georgia's Raul Tutarauli (31-6) into the promotion & former welterweight champ Borys Mankowski (22-10-1) meets the hard-hitting Valeriu Mircea (27-8-1), and top Polish light heavyweight Lukasz Sudolski (10-1) makes his KSW debut against former Jungle Fight champion Kleber Silva (20-11).

The main event was set to feature a heavyweight bout between Former professional boxer Artur Szpilka and former Glory fighter Arkadiusz Wrzosek. However, on November 16, Szpilka had to withdraw from the fight due to a back injury.

Friend, the event is January 21 so it has not happened yet.
