Cage Warriors 148: Duncan vs. JT Money (also known as Team Europe vs. Team USA) is an upcoming mixed martial arts event scheduled for December 31, 2022 at the Indigo at the O2 in London, England. Fight Card Main Card (UFC Fight Pass) Christian Leroy Duncan vs. Jesse Taylor 185 lbs Middleweight Championship Modestas Bukauskas vs. Chuck Campbell 205 lbs Light Heavyweight Championship Sam Creasey vs. Shajidul Haque 125 lbs Flyweight Championship Tuomas Gronvall vs. Wilson Reis 135 lbs Damon Wilson vs. Tobias Harila 145 lbs Darren Stewart vs. Guilherme Cadena 185 lbs Helio Hernandez vs. Chasen Blair 170 lbs Dario Bellandi vs. Justin Barry 185 lbs Emrah Sonmez vs. Adam Meskini 145 lbs Nathan Fletcher vs. Alessandro Giordano 135 lbs Nik Bagley vs. Kallum Parker 145 lbs Orlando Wilson Prins vs. Samuel Bark 145 lbs Background Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation – has revealed a huge addition to its New Year’s Eve event, with Christian Leroy Duncan set to defend his middleweight title against former champion Jesse ‘JT Money’ Taylor. The blockbuster clash will feature on the main card of CW 148 on December 31st, at London’s indigo at The O2. Duncan (7-0) extended his formidable professional unbeaten streak last month in Manchester, stopping Bulgarian powerhouse Marian Dimitrov with a spinning elbow and a flurry of precision punches. A multi-time IMMAF competitor as an amateur, with over 20 high-level bouts to his name before entering the professional ranks, the Gloucester-based 27-year-old has taken the European scene by storm in recent years. With all seven of his pro bouts taking place in the famous yellow gloves, CLD is one of the most battle-tested prospects on the circuit. Prior to the win over Dimitrov – his first title defence – Duncan accumulated a pair of victories over Will Currie, a submission over Bellator veteran Justin Moore and a flying knee stoppage of Djati Milan to capture CW gold. No stranger to the middleweight championship currently strapped around Duncan’s waist, California’s Jesse ‘JT Money’ Taylor has a long history with CW. And with MMA in general lol. Love you JT. A huge light heavyweight title fight has been added to Cage Warriors 148, with former champion Modestas Bukauskas set to face Chuck Campbell for the vacant belt on New Year’s Eve at the indigo at The O2. Bukauskas heads into the bout on the back of a hard-fought points decision victory over former CW middleweight champion Lee Chadwick in his promotional return in November. The bout marked the 4-fight UFC veteran’s first in fourteen months, after recovering from a serious knee injury. ‘The Baltic Gladiator’ earned his 12th professional victory on the night, putting him in pole position to challenge for the championship that has remained vacant since his last defence against Riccardo Nosiglia at CW 111. Looking to spoil Bukauskas’ designs on becoming a two-time champion is American Chuck Campbell. The American Kickboxing Academy product last saw action at CW 146 in Manchester, derailing hometown hero Andy Clamp’s CW debut with a first round TKO stoppage. The 6’4 light heavyweight will be making his third appearance in the yellow gloves, and looks to build on an increasingly fearsome reputation for smooth, powerful striking. The bout will feature on CW 148’s main card as part of the Team Europe vs Team USA series, alongside previously announced bouts pitting Dario Bellandi against Justin Barry and Tobias Harila versus Damon Wilson. Also announced for the return of the Cage Warriors NYE party is a flyweight title bout between champion Sam Creasey and challenger Shaj Haque, and the return of Next Generation bantamweight Nathan Fletcher against Italian super-prospect Alessandro Giordano. Cage Warriors officials have also confirmed a featherweight clash pitting Nik Bagley against Kallum Parker will feature on the night’s undercard. And the supercard just got a little bigger, with the addition of a flyweight title bout pitting champion Sam ‘Urai’ Creasey against challenger Shaj ‘Superman’ Haque. Originally scheduled to take place on Cage Warriors’ latest edition of Unplugged at the BT Sport Studio, the bout was postponed when an illness left Creasey unable to compete. With both parties keen to get the bout rescheduled as quickly as possible, the contest will now take place as a featured bout on CW’s epic NYE party at the indigo at The O2. In addition to the flyweight title bout, the Europe vs USA portion of the card is beginning to take shape with two additional bouts confirmed this week. Spectacular knock-out artists Justin Barry will attempt to add another name to his highlight reel when he faces off with Italy’s Dario Bellandi. The American exploded onto the CW scene in 2021 with a jaw-dropping crescent kick KO, while Bellandi recently got back on the winning track at CW 144 in Rome, submitting Joan Arastey with a second-round triangle. Their bout joins the previously announced featherweight tilt between Tobias Harila and Damon ‘The Nomad’ Wilson. In another addition to the card, former bantamweight title challenger Nathan Fletcher returns to the cage after a fifteen-month absence. The Next Generation prospect, whose entire professional career has taken place in the famous yellow gloves, makes his long-awaited return against surging Italian up-and-comer Alessandro Giordano. |
