Fight Card Main Card (UFC Fight Pass) Ryan Ford vs. Robert Hale 175 lbs Super Welterweight Championship Chris Larsen vs. Grayson Wells 265 lbs Heavyweight Championship Neal Anderson vs. Maged Hammo 145 lbs Featherweight Championship Phil Engeroff vs. Mac Laursen 170 lbs Eli Aronov vs. Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz 185 lbs Jett Grande vs. Colton Boxell 165 lbs Izzudeen Atmeh vs. Harley King 135 lbs Tyrell Giselbrecht vs. Caleb Ermine 155 lbs Amateur Card Tony Rojas vs. Alex Moher 125 lbs Mitch Wiles vs. Luke Vaillancourt 128 lbs Jake Craig vs. Skye King 265 lbs Background After his highly anticipated return to the cage last month at Unified 43, Canadian combat sports legend Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford takes on Atlanta’s Robert “The Blue King” Hale for the vacant Unified MMA Super-Welterweight Championship at Unified 45 on May 27. At Unified 43, Ford scored a second-round submission victory over American challenger Dawond Pickney, officially ending his seven-year hiatus from MMA. Ford boasts a 23-5 record in the cage and is 17-7 as a professional boxer, including 12 victories by KO. The former World Series of Fighting title challenger’s celebrated MMA career also includes 12 wins by KO and another nine by submission. Hale may well be Ford’s biggest challenge in the cage yet. The fast-rising Pro Fight League vet is 11-5 on the strength of three straight wins heading into his Canadian debut. He’s been victorious in five of his past six fights, including a first-round KO over UFC featherweight Nikolas Motta. After the originally scheduled Rashad Coulter fight withdrawal, Christian Larsen is happy to still be competing at Unified MMA 45. Instead Edmonton, Alta.’s Larsen (6-2) will take on Abbotsford, B.C.’s Grayson Wells (5-4) in a rematch in the Unified MMA 45 co-main event slot. Larsen, 34, was set for the biggest fight of his MMA career when he was slated to take on UFC veteran Rashad Coulter. Unfortunately, Coulter had to pull out of the fight as Larsen was told Coulter couldn’t find a cornerman. Also, Lethbridge, Alta.’s Hammo (10-6-1) defends his Unified MMA featherweight belt against Edmonton, Alta.’s Neal Anderson (11-4) in a sequel affair. Anderson, 34, has been competing under the Unified MMA banner for over 10 years now and said "finally winning a title for the promotion would be a special achievement". |
