The following happened on the Underground on Christmas day. No animals were harmed in the making of this EPIC event:The StoryOn Christmas Eve,
Nate "The Rock" Quarry wrote on Twitter (I refuse to say TWEET. Soooo obnoxious...anyway...) that his sponsor,
Fight Mafia, for UFC Fight Night 19 had bounced their
second check to him. Oh Christmas day, he wrote again that he will be consulting with legal counsel to resolve the matter.
Fight Mafia responded via Twitter simply saying that they're in the process of writing a statement and signed off with the proverbial, "there's two sides to every story."
Shonie Carter sees the thread and declares that he, too, have also been ripped-off by
Fight Mafia by way of rear naked bounced check.
Fight Mafia actually delivers on their promise and posts their "story" on their website and it's chock full of
FAIL:
http://www.thefightmafia.com/Statement.htmlStatement Highlights- "...My life consisted of working, hating my life, contemplating suicide, and watching the UFC." This is where he starts!!
- Sam Stout wore one if his shirts at weigh-ins and he and his girlfriend broke down like bawling schoolgirls.
- "There are lifestyle brands and then there are life brands. The
Fight Mafia just might be the world's only life brand. Life is not easy but the
Fight Mafia was created to remind people that you are not alone." Pure marketing genius...because every life needs a label!
- Claims government investigation, freezing of all assets and closing of business, but insists this is normal operating procedure for suddenly successful companies. IRS doesn't even know about companies that are only 90 days old, so he's either lying to get people to leave him alone without pay or he's being investigated for activities related to another business.
- Accuses
Nate Quarry of instigating calls to
Fight Mafia (he had no such involvement other than the Twitter posts that started it).
- Somehow, it's all
Houston Alexander's fault?
This would actually be really hilarious if it didn't affect fighters where it really hurts. I hope
Nate and
Shonie get paid, but the way it looks, they're going to have to file claims and hope they get something out of the asset liquidation. These guys were up to no good and clearly haven't the slightest clue how to run a business, let alone balance an account. Way to run a company into the ground in no time flat, dipshits. A golden opportunity that others would kill for destined for corporate wasteland.
It's also being revealed that this isn't an isolated incident. It appears to be a somewhat common occurrence. Fighters get no respect.
Noel P(eon) BrooksIt's pretty sad when
Hoelzer Reich has a better brand reputation than yours. Yeah, I said it.
EDIT:Jesus, this doesn't stop. This guy is out of his damn mind and his numbers just don't add up in the real world!:
